The
Borris Lace Collection
The Borris Lace Tour celebrates National Heritage week with a chance
to see some of the world's largest collection of Borris lace.
This
Famine industry was brought to Borris by Lady Harriet Kavanagh in
an effort to provide an income for the women of Borris. It continued
to be supported by the ladies of the Kavanagh family right up until
the 1950s when it was eventually discontinued.
Come
and hear the full story of the Borris Lace, see some unique pieces
from the collection as well as the original patterns, dockets and
order books. You
will also be able to see the lace being made and maybe even have
a go yourself.
This
tour will run at 3.00 pm on Sunday 28th of August.
If
you are a large group, then another tour
can be arranged by ringing + (0)59 9771884. Group rates will
apply - please call for more information or click here to contact
us.
