TOP THREE VENUES IN THE SOUTH EAST

Borris House

borris house For a bride who really wants to feel like royalty on her wedding day, Borris House is one of the few Irish estates that can actually trace its history back to the royal families of ancient Ireland. The estate is the ancestral home of the McMorrough Kavanaghs who were the High Kings of Leinster and the house is full of history and charm. With stunning views surrounding the entire house, it makes a wonderfully romantic setting for a wedding.

Borris House can cater for both small receptions of 70 guests and less or larger parties of 150 guests. Situated on over six hundred and fifty acres of private park and woodlands, the house makes the most of its stunning views and combined with the garden, there are plenty of opportunities for wedding photos. There is also a small stone chapel beside the house which is available for ceremonies and blessings.

This impressive and graceful house has a great rustic charm with family portraits, antique furniture and crackling log fires creating a warm and old fashioned atmosphere. The reception rooms are large and spacious and stunningly enhanced with decorative plasterwork dating back from 1812. The old fashioned elements, the country atmosphere and the grandeur of the dining room make the house an appealing location for weddings.
