Children’s Art Workshop: Heritage Week

Workshop 1

“Print and Book making Project” 

Using a table-top printing press, children will make their own relief and collograph prints from their drawings and a selection of found and natural materials, with local artist Jules Michael.

Stories of kings and lost crowns, motifs of animals and nature in the plasterwork of Borris House, and a visit to its library with its ancient books will give sources and ideas.

Continued over three mornings, the project will finish with each child hand stitching their work into their own unique book!

22nd-24th of August (Tuesday-Thursday)

10am – 1pm

8 children max.

30€ all materials included

7 – 12 yrs

– please bring a light snack for elevenses and raincoats

– further classes for alternative ages or adults available on request

Workshop 2

“Stick-weaving Project”

See and learn about the ancient trees and woodland of Borris House. Gather natural materials and found objects to create a weaving project full of colour and fun!

Wed, 23rd of August.

2 – 4pm

8 children max.
